Haitian Development Network Launches 2025 Donation Campaign to Advance Haiti 2050 Vision

Washington, DC – April 21, 2025The Haitian Development Network Foundation (HDN.org) proudly unveils its 2025 Donation Campaign, a vital step toward realizing its “Haiti 2050” vision of a thriving, self-reliant Haiti. This campaign invites individuals, businesses, and organizations worldwide to donate and volunteer, supporting sustainable projects that empower Haitian communities to overcome poverty and build a brighter future.

Haiti faces immense challenges, with over 64% of its 11.7 million people living on less than $3.65 per day, according to the World Bank. The World Food Program reports that 5.4 million Haitians are grappling with acute food insecurity, exacerbated by political instability and gang violence. Haitian Development Network Foundation’s “Haiti 2050” initiative aims to transform this reality through economic growth, job creation, education, and sustainable development, making Haiti a beacon of possibility in the Caribbean by 2050.

“Our vision is a Haiti where every family has food, opportunity, and hope,” said Jacques Jonassaint Haitian Development Network Foundation ’s Chairman & CEO. “This campaign fuels projects that create lasting change, like our chicken program, which has already transformed lives by providing sustainable nutrition and income.”

HDN Foundation’s projects deliver tangible results. In 2023, their chicken breeding program distributed 200 chickens to 100 families, constructed 96 coops, and provided 100 gallons of feed, significantly boosting food security in Northwest Haiti. The 2025 campaign aims to double this impact, reaching more families with poultry, training, and resources. Similarly, the methanized biogas project, which converts waste into clean energy for cooking and electricity, reduces environmental strain and improves living conditions. Educational efforts, like eco-citizenship workshops, equip youth with skills for sustainable living.

Donations directly fund these initiatives. For example, $50 provides a family with chickens to start a poultry business, while $100 supports biogas training for a community. Volunteers are also needed to share expertise in agriculture, renewable energy, or education, amplifying HDN’s impact.

The campaign launches with a virtual event on May 1, 2025, featuring stories from beneficiaries and insights from HDN leaders. Join at hdn.org/donate to contribute or visit hdn.org/volunteer to sign up as a volunteer. Together, we can help Haiti rise.
