The SMT interviews provided an essential roadmap for upgrading to Windows 11 and staying secure after the October 14, 2025 deadline
West Palm Beach, FL – September 29, 2025 – News Media Group, Inc. and Digital Lifestyle Expert Mario Armstrong partnered with We Communications on the SMT to conduct television and radio interviews with local stations and national shows to announce consumers’ options if they are still using the Windows 10 operating system. On October 14, 2025, support for the operating system will officially end. While the PC will continue to function, it will no longer receive security updates or technical support, leaving it more vulnerable to viruses, malware, and phishing attacks.
With just days left, Microsoft is reminding everyone to upgrade to Windows 11, the most secure version of Windows yet. In addition to enhanced security, Windows 11 offers faster performance, smoother navigation, and built-in tools that make everyday tasks easier.
For those who rely on their PC for work, school, or staying connected, preparation is important. The first step is to check if a Windows 10 device can upgrade to Windows 11 at no extra cost. To do this, go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and then select Check for updates.
If the PC isn’t eligible for an upgrade, there are still options available. One option is to purchase a new Windows 11 or Copilot+ PC, which provides faster performance, greater power, and the latest productivity and creativity features. For those who need more time, additional solutions can be considered.
Personal users can enroll in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program by using Windows Backup, Microsoft Rewards points or a one-time payment of $30, while businesses can subscribe for $61 per device, renewable annually for up to three years. Don’t worry—your files, photos, and personalized settings can be transferred easily using Windows Backup.
With support for Windows 10 ending on October 14, 2025, the sooner action is taken, the sooner the benefits of Windows 11’s stronger security, faster performance, and enhanced features will be realized. Don’t wait until the last minute take steps today to ensure your PC stays secure, protected, and ready for what’s next.
