Dubai-based agency pairs press placements with Generative Engine Optimisation so companies can be found in news coverage and in AI-generated answers
DUBAI, UAE, WebBox, a digital PR agency based in Dubai, today announced the expansion of its press release distribution and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) offering for businesses in the United Kingdom, the United States and the United Arab Emirates. The combined service is designed for companies that want their announcements to be found by journalists, buyers and investors, and by the AI engines those people increasingly consult before making a decision.

Why the two services now sit together
The way people check out a company has changed. Before taking a meeting, a prospective partner is as likely to ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google’s AI Overviews about a business as to run a conventional search. Those engines build their answers from sources they can retrieve and verify. That places new weight on credible third-party coverage, and on clear, well-structured information on a company’s own website.
WebBox’s PR distribution service places client news on publications chosen by market and sector. Clients can choose hand-picked placements on named titles, newswire syndication for announcements that need wide reach on the day, or both. Releases are written for the market they target: a local angle for Gulf desks, and separate framings for British and American editors where the story calls for it. According to the company, it has secured more than 9,000 placements across more than 1,800 publisher domains.
Alongside distribution, WebBox’s GEO service addresses the other half of the problem: making sure that when an AI engine is asked about a client’s category, it has reliable sources to cite. The work includes an AI visibility check across the major engines, a set of buyer questions built for the client’s category, restructured and machine-readable key pages, entity and schema markup, a third-party coverage plan, and monthly tracking of which engines cite the client and for which questions.
“A press release used to be judged by how many sites carried it,” said Sam Laidlaw, Founder of WebBox. “That still matters, but the more important question now is what someone finds when they look you up, whether they use a search engine or ask an AI assistant. Coverage on publications people already trust, and a website that states the facts plainly, are what both of them rely on. We have brought the two services together because clients kept asking for one without realising they needed the other.”
How the service works in each market
For UK clients, WebBox advises on the mix of national, trade and regional titles that suits the buyer, with copy written in British English and a clear reason for a UK reader to care. For US clients, releases lead with an American angle, use US English and dollar figures, and are scheduled for the East Coast morning, when business desks are busiest. For UAE clients, the agency typically prepares two framings of the same news: one for regional business titles and one for the international publications followed by overseas investors and partners.
GEO work runs alongside each campaign, so the coverage a client earns also strengthens the sources AI engines draw on. Orders, live links and reports are managed through the WebBox client portal, giving clients a single record of where their news appeared.
The expanded service is available now to businesses in all three markets.
