The Fermatta Music University Center is Expanding to an International Audience

The Fermatta Music University Center is a prominent Mexican University that offers bachelors and master’s degrees in the field of music. It includes Composition, Performance, Audio Engineering, Audio Design and post-production, Entertainment Business and more. With how increasingly globalized students are, Fermatta Music University Center is now expanding its course offerings and allowing students internationally to study at the university.

About Fermatta Music University Center

The university has a long history and has been providing excellent courses and quality education since the 1990s. It aims to provide its students with the latest industry knowledge while giving them a solid music education foundation. Big names such as Natalia Lafourcade, Joselo Rangel from Café Tacuva, Mauricio Clavería from La Ley, Pablo Hurtado from Camila and Ximena Sariñana coming out of the school, it is no doubt that Fermatta is recognized as one of the top universities internationally. It has even received certification from the Mexican government’s Secretary of Public Education, allowing it to offer education in composition, execution and engineering, focusing on contemporary music.

Aside from the degree programs it offers, Fermatta Music University Center has a training space where the university hosts many of the greatest artists in the entertainment and music industry, including Jack White, Steve Lukather, Steve Vai, Chad Smith, Matt Sorum, Frank Gambale, Pat Martino, Scott Henderson, John Medeski, Marcus Miller and many more professionals.

Academic Offerings

The university offers 3 Bachelor’s Degree programs: (Bachelor’s in Sound Engineering and Music Production, Bachelor’s in Contemporary Music Composition and a Bachelor’s in Music Performance) and 2 Master’s Degree programs: (a Master’s in Audio and Post-Production Design for Film and Television, and the Master’s in Entertainment Business)

Anyone can join these programs, as they are designed both for students who may not have industry experience yet and others who may have been working in the music industry for quite some time. The university aims to have students from diverse backgrounds to foster a good classroom environment. Fermatta’s programs aim to make the studies as realistic and practical as possible, preparing students for what comes. Comprehensive training is provided to all students to ensure that students become prominent musicians with mastery of instruments and other branches of music.

The degree programs are bound to confirm students’ credibility while enforcing their knowledge. It ensures the students’ commitment to improving their skills and is often a critical factor in hiring new employees within the music industry. Support is provided through the university’s career center upon graduation to ensure students have a placement within the industry.

Additionally, there is a master class series program provided by the university as well. Practicality is the underlying principle of this program. It offers to place students in direct contact with professionals in the music and entertainment industry to allow them to gain first-hand industry knowledge and experience and the quickest way possible. Professionals come from all walks of life in the entertainment industry, including prominent musicians, engineers, producers and executives. Campus Location
Fermatta Music University Center is constantly expanding its location offerings to ensure that all students have a chance to study there. At the moment, the school has seven campuses: one in Mexico City, another in the city of Guadalajara, another in the city of Monterrey and its more recent campuses in the Querétaro, Puebla, Baja California – Rosarito/Tijuana, and León.

  • The Mexico City campus is located on Avenida de la República # 7, in the Tabacalera neighborhood of the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office.
  • The Guadalajara campus is located at Francisco I. Madero Street # 621, Guadalajara Centro neighborhood, in the state of Jalisco.
  • The Monterrey campus is located at Calle Mariano Matamoros Poniente # 410, in the Centro de Monterrey neighborhood, in the state of Nuevo León.
  • The Querétaro campus is located at Av. Universidad # 162 Colonia El Retablo, Santiago de Querétaro, Querétaro.
  • The Puebla campus is located at Boulevard Esteban de Antuñano No. 2705 Colonia Reforma Sur.
  • The Baja California – Rosarito/Tijuana campus is opening in September 2023.
  • The León campus is opening March 2024.
