CLL Society Honors Researchers for Innovations in CLL/SLL Care

The CLL Society, a leading authority in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) patient care, has announced the recipients of its 2025 Research Program awards. These awards recognize groundbreaking research in integrative medicine, clinical scholarship, and young investigator projects, all aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and quality of life.

Dr. Nancy Musoke received the Integrative Medicine Award for her study on the effects of curcumin and exercise on CLL/SLL progression and immune function. This research addresses the gap in clinical studies on non-pharmacologic interventions, offering hope for patients in the early stages of the disease.

The Clinical Scholar Award was granted to Dr. Matthew S. Davids for his work on optimizing glofitamab combination therapy for Richter’s transformation, a severe progression of CLL. His research seeks to develop less toxic and more effective treatments for this challenging condition.

Dr. Quinlan Sievers was honored with the Young Investigator Award for his project on overcoming resistance to BTK inhibitors, a promising treatment for CLL/SLL. His work could lead to more durable and personalized therapy options for patients who experience relapse.

These awards underscore the CLL Society’s commitment to advancing research that addresses critical gaps in CLL/SLL care. Through the support of community donations and matching grants, the Society continues to fund innovative projects that have the potential to transform patient care.
