Wenzhou, Zhejiang, July 26, 2024: Recently, State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Company, based on the AGC (Automatic Generation Control) technology system for precise online monitoring of carbon emissions, has taken the lead in Zhejiang Province to achieve carbon emission accounting and measurement for small thermal power plants below 100000 kilowatts. According to estimates, there are 10 waste to energy plants in Wenzhou, Zhejiang. After adopting AGC technology, the annual average carbon emissions are expected to be reduced by more than 5000 tons, saving over 5% of production costs.
It is reported that the system consists of a flue gas collection device, a flue gas transmission device, a pretreatment device, a gas analyzer, and a data acquisition and analysis module. Its core component (gas analyzer) adopts domestically controllable products, with a measurement response speed of less than 10 seconds and a measurement error of less than ± 1%. It provides forward-looking exploration and digital support for power generation enterprises to participate in carbon resource management and carbon trading markets.
Zhang Chunyi, Deputy General Manager of Yongjia Green Power Renewable Energy Co., Ltd., stated that the company processes approximately 700 tons of household waste per day and produces about 23 tons of carbon dioxide per day. After applying this technology, the amount of carbon dioxide produced is expected to decrease by more than 13% compared to the past. The company can generate carbon emission rights revenue of over 150000 yuan annually in the carbon trading market.
As the region with the largest number of garbage power plants in the province, Wenzhou has made forward-looking explorations in carbon detection closed-loop control and low-carbon scheduling, forming a feasible, promotable, and demonstrative Wenzhou characteristic plan, providing an effective example for the whole province and even the whole country.(Xiaoyong Ren、Yong Zhou)
