On last wednesday, Holiday Swap announced that it is providing free temporary housing to anyone displaced by the recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. The corporation has announced that it intends to arrange housing through its network of non-profit organizations and to develop a voucher system for homeowners who are ready to offer their properties to individuals in need.
Holiday Swap, an online platform that allows vacationers to rent out their homes for short periods of time, has launched a collaboration with non-profit partners to organize short-term stays for survivors of various catastrophes. The initiative attempts to assist survivors with basic requirements such as temporary housing. Holiday Swap has previously supplied housing to a large number of people in prior attempts, and is now collaborating with British actor Tamer Hassan and his team to help survivors.
While the region continues to deal with the devastation caused by the 7.8 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that struck on the 6th of February, survivors face a variety of significant obstacles. The disaster has killed over 37,000 people in Turkey and Syria, destroying numerous communities and countless more homeless. The problem has gotten even worse as winter temperatures have dropped to near-freezing levels.
According to recent reports, a number of groups are working together to deliver critical supplies and help to disaster survivors. Holiday Swap, which has previously provided shelter to individuals in disaster relief operations, is collaborating with British actor Tamer Hassan and his team to help those in need. This includes helping survivors with food, clothing, and other necessities. This collective endeavour displays everyone involved’s dedication to assisting survivors during this difficult time.
In addition, James Asquith, the founder of Christmas Swap, stated that “Right now, with the devastating disaster in Turkey and Syria we are working tirelessly to house families and I could not be prouder of our team on the ground in Turkey, working day and night, delivering supplies and helping those in need.
So far we have successfully helped house 186 people but there’s so much more that needs to be done.
