Fresno State defeated UCONN 45-0 in Week 0. However, the Huskies are undoubtedly the worst FBS football team. The Bulldogs still appear to be poised for success in the Mountain West conference, which features all kinds of Power-5-quality talent.

The Ducks are looking to start the season by winning in front of their Autzen fans before heading to Columbus to face No. 4 Ohio State (1-0), September 11.
Oregon has won 12 consecutive home games, 16 consecutive home openers, and 26 consecutive non-conference home games. The Ducks can extend their streaks and win next week’s game at No. The biggest game in their season, and on the college football calendar for Week 2, is 4 Ohio State. Both safety Bennett Williams and DJ Johnson, Oregon’s tight end, are facing off against each other on a smaller scale. This is a family affair.
Anthony Brown Jr., the new starting quarterback, and Joe Moorhead, the offensive coordinator, are both in doubt going into this season. With the sixth-year senior as the head coach, what will Oregon’s offense look and feel like? It’s difficult to predict the future with only a few glimpses of last season. CJ Verdell was not present in either game. Verdell, along with all the UO’s key skill positions and offensive line starters, are back which should lead to improved play up front as well as more consistency.
Fresno State is a pressure-filled team with many veteran players. Before the big test next week, it is a good sign to get push at the point-of-attack and connect on a few deep shots under ideal conditions.
Tim DeRuyter is Oregon’s new defensive coordinator. He inherits a talented front seven. Kayvon Thibodeaux and Noah Sewell along with Justin Flowe, Justin Flowe, and Mase Funa are all blue-chip talent and should all be in the running for big seasons. Fresno State has Ronnie Rivers, one of the most dynamic backs in Group of 5, and several receivers that can pose matchup problems, especially Jalen Cropper. Before next week’s big test, the Ducks will attempt a boundary corner first-timer. It will be interesting to see how Dontae Manning and Trikweze Bridges perform in this most important action.
