The body is like a metal utensil carrying ghee, the latter being the mind. When one is hot (means affected by a disease or emotion), the other one also gets heated up (means affected). Ayurveda explains a section called Rasayana or rejuvenation which includes herbal medicines and therapies to slow down the ageing process and enhance the strength of the person. Aswagandha – Famous for its rejuvenating properties, Aswagandha is widely used for improving strength. Known as Indian ginseng, the plant’s botanical name is Withania somnifera. It enhances digestive power but works as a laxative & emetic in overdose. It has anthelmintic, carminative, and aphrodisiac properties. It works as anti-spasmodic, diuretic, stimulant, and an expectorant. As an aromatic and stimulant, it is used in many tonics, cough syrups, and medicines for gastric problems.
